We did a small little art project today that proved to be quite fun for the boys little hands. We came across the idea on pinterest (originally taken from http://www.playbasedlearning.com.au/2011/05/mini-snap-painting/ ) and we thought it was something that our kids would enjoy. All you will need are the following things:
1. A box or tray that will fit an A4 sheet of paper
2. Rubber bands, thick or thin will be fine (I think thin is better as they are more elastic)
5. A4 card
Start by stretching the rubber bands across your tray or box.
Then paint the rubber bands different colors.
Carefully slot the paper into the box or tray without smudging the paint onto it. If your card just fits snuggly, you may want to do this before painting the bands, if your frame is much bigger than we suggest you slot the paper in after painting the bands.
Now the fun part, pull the rubber bands and then let them go, and watch the paint splat across the paper.
The kids loved snapping the bands! Abdurahman at times overdid it which is why he ended up with paint spots all over his face, but that’s was okay as it was so easy to clean up. You can repeat the process several times and re-paint the bands with other colors using a new piece of card. The boys produced three snap paintings, this was one of them.
